App	Subject/level	Description
Penguin math	Maths (Year 1-4) Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)	You play against other penguins (ipads). Tap on the correct iceberg that is the answer to your question. The penguin moves up on the ice berg if correct answer has been selected.
Grade 1 math	Maths (Year 1-2) Addition and subtraction	Starts off really easy. You can choose the number of questions.
Spring bird	Maths (Year 1-2) Addition and subtraction (basic)	This app builds a story, to give the students a purpose to the maths (motivation). Students have to go through each level to reach the harder one. Progressive and competitive for students to reach the higher levels.
Addition!	Maths (Year 0-1) Addition	Has 3 levels (add up to 6, up to 10 and up to 15). Very visual and leaves the materials for children to use if they are still in this stage. Counts one to one as you touch the materials.
For kids	Maths (Year 0-2)	Has materials shown in each word problem for both values being added or subtracted. Children select from 3 answers at the bottom. Very supportive for struggling students.
Monkey Math	Maths (Year 1-2) Addition	Progressive builds adventure into the story and a great hit with the boys! A jet powered monkey flies through the jungle solving equations that get harder and harder.
Maths facts	Maths (Year 2+)	Basic facts with an option of it being timed for 6-10 minutes. This does throw some multiplication in the mix, which may confuse and frustrate children below this stage of thinking about multiplication.
Montessori numbers	Maths (Year 1-2)	Might be a bit wordy for year 0. Very good! Children are able to manipulate the materials as they hear their values. You can select your difficulty in each category. The categories are: Quantity, 1-20, numerals and numerals from quantity. Teaches place value as well. Fun and sensory! I would imagine girls enjoying this one.
1,2,3 Writing	Writing (Year 0-1)	Both written word and number form for children to trace with their finger. Has the value of the number in the pictures. Covers numbers 1-7.
ABC writing	Writing (Year 1)	Word families. Children hear all the words made with each word family and practice tracing over the letters.
ABC phonics	Writing (Year 0-1)
Sight words	Reading (Year 0-2)	Within this app there are several games that the children can play using their basic high frequency words, inucluding: Unscrambling the word with help, children hear the words and see them spelt for them, a word recognition game, memory game and a game of bingo.
Sent builder	Reading (Year 0-2)	Cut up sentences that the children have to rearrange to make sense.
