Fantastic links

Hi Everyone,

Below are some awesome links that you can access at home and share. Some of these we will be using in class or I may sometimes set it as homework for the week to view some of the amazing videos/pictures/games etc.

They are also just for fun and interest to share with the family at home.

Enjoy!
xx Joy

Film archive:
Super interesting! You can view New Zealand ads dating right back to the 60's. This is also a great opportunity to use these in showing children that stories come in a variety of forms. Digital literacy is becoming a strong part of the lives of children and we cannot underestimate the power of using these to evoke writing and developing an interest in reading for children.

Kids News:
Interesting news articles for children! Great for prompting discussions and engaging children in higher order thinking! I will be using this more regularly and may use this website as homework to read and discuss together at home.

Nature videos:
Brilliant videos of nature both live and archived in different countries all over the world! This one the children will LOVE!

Please watch this space as I will be adding more interesting websites over the course of time.

BBC Literacy for Year 1
